Unveiling The Top-5 Widest Red Light Therapy Panels!

In this blog post, I talk about the top-5 widest red light therapy panels. The reason is that many people want shoulder to shoulder coverage with just one panel!

Unveiling The Top-5 Widest Red Light Therapy Panels!
On this page
Introduction

If you’re searching for a wide red light therapy panel, you’re probably looking to treat a larger area of your body. That’s where panel width becomes critical.

I've tested 17 red light therapy panels with 300 LEDs or fewer, focusing on finding the widest panels in this category. Keep on reading, and I will reveal the widest!

Why Panel Width Matters:
A wider panel can provide broader coverage when aiming for full-body treatment, reducing the need to shift your position to target different areas.

While some marketing claims suggest that even a small panel can give you head-to-toe coverage, the reality is slightly different. Sure, light does spread, but for true shoulder-to-shoulder coverage, you’ll need a broader panel that directly covers the area you're treating.

Measuring Panel Width:
For this comparison, I’ve measured the LED width—not the physical width—of all 17 panels. This is important because many panels have wasted space around the edges, which doesn’t emit light. When I talk about panel width here, I’m talking about the area covered with LEDs, which gives a more accurate picture of the light distribution.

I removed the ten narrowest panels, each about 6 inches wide, leaving me with seven panels. Now, let’s dive into the seven widest panels.

The Top 7 Widest Red Light Therapy Panels:

7th Place: PlatinumLED BIOMAX 900

  • LED Width: 9.57 inches

The PlatinumLED BioMax 900, which measures 9.57 inches in LED width, kicks things off in 7th place. BioMax 900 has been in the game for a long time.

It was the top panel in my 2024 comparison series. While it’s in 7th place based on LED width, it ranks #1 when we factor in things like power, features, and value for money.

This panel has some standout features, like advanced control options and excellent build quality. Plus, it’s priced well compared to other models in this list.

4th to 6th Place: A Three-Way Tie:

  • LED Width: 9.61 inches

We have a three-way tie for 4th to 6th place. These panels are just a fraction of an inch wider than the BioMax 900, coming in at 9.61 inches across:

These three panels offer great width, but let's talk specifics about each.

Scienlodic P1500:

The Scienlodic P1500 is a solid panel, but one crucial thing to note is that it has some blank space right in the middle. This design creates a couple of bands where less light is emitted, which could lead to uneven coverage across your body. So, if uniformity is important to you, keep this in mind. That said, it’s still a well-performing panel, and this small coverage gap won’t be a deal-breaker for many people.

Scienlodic P1500 on the right has "bands".

Rouge Care G3 Pro:

The Rouge Care G3 Pro is next. Rouge is known for creating reliable, high-quality panels, and this one is no exception. It’s sleek, durable, and offers a nice balance of power and size.

It competes closely with the other two in this category in terms of performance, but as I said earlier, these three are so similar in width that the differences are due to other features.

Rojo Therapy Refine 900:

Finally, the Rojo Therapy Refine 900 rounds out the trio. This panel is relatively new to the market, but it’s already turning heads. It’s well-built and comes with many features you’d expect from a high-end panel. This panel ranked third in my 2024 comparison series, which says a lot about its performance.

Again, all these panels are within a fraction of an inch of each other in width, so the choice here really comes down to your personal preference in design and features.

3rd Place: Idoo Lighting 1500:

  • LED Width: 9.65 inches

In third place is the Idoo Lighting 1500. This panel measures 9.65 inches across and is a budget-friendly option, which I purchased directly through Alibaba. While it’s much cheaper than the others on this list, it still performed well, especially considering its price point.

The Idoo Lighting 1500 didn’t come out on top in my 2024 comparison series, but it’s worth considering if you’re working with a tighter budget and still want a wide panel. The difference in width between this panel and the next is minimal, so you’re not losing much coverage.

2nd Place: Block Blue Light Mega 4.0:

  • LED Width: 9.72 inches

In second place is the Block Blue Light Mega 4.0. This panel is their fourth-generation model and measures 9.72 inches across. It’s slightly wider than the Idoo Lighting 1500 and came second in my 2024 comparison series. The Block Blue Light Mega 4.0 is a solid, reliable panel with good power output and features. It’s a well-rounded panel with excellent coverage and a reasonable price point for its size.

1st Place: LightPathLED Diesel XL Shorty

  • LED Width: 12.72 inches

The widest red light therapy panel is the LightPathLED Diesel XL Shortie. Not only does this panel take the top spot in terms of width, but it does so by a significant margin. The Diesel XL Shortie measures 12.72 inches across, making it much wider than the six other panels I’ve discussed. To put that in perspective, most other panels on this list are around 9.5 to 9.7 inches wide, so this one stands out in size.

This panel provides shoulder-to-shoulder coverage, which is a big deal if you want full-body treatment. Instead of shifting around or repositioning yourself to get complete coverage, the LightPathLED Diesel XL Shortie can treat a large portion of your upper body in one go. This is especially helpful if you’re dealing with larger areas like your back or torso and don’t want to spend time adjusting a smaller panel to cover everything.

LightPathLED is a reputable company, and the Diesel XL Shortie is an excellent option if you prioritize width over other features. While it didn’t come out on top in my 2024 comparison series based on overall performance and features, it still did very well.

This panel checks many boxes for people who want a wide, powerful, and easy-to-use device. It’s built to last, has a solid warranty, and offers good power output.

If width is your focus, this should be at the top of your list. It’s by far the widest option in this category, and with 12.72 inches of LED coverage, you’re getting a lot of treatment area in one shot.

Consider Larger Options:

Before you decide, there's something important to consider: the panels I’ve discussed so far all have 300 LEDs or less. If you're open to spending more and want an even larger panel with more coverage, several bigger options might suit your needs.

One example is the Mito Light MitoHacker 4.0, which has 400 LEDs and measures about 16 inches across. This is wider than the LightPathLED Diesel XL Shortie and offers even more coverage.

Although the price is higher, the MitoHacker 4.0 offers a powerful and comprehensive treatment option. It is designed to provide extensive light coverage in a single session, reducing the need for repositioning and making therapy sessions more efficient.

Even larger panels are available for those ready to go all-in on red light therapy. These can range from 600 LEDs to as many as 1200 LEDs and provide head-to-toe coverage. Not only do these panels offer more width, but they also give you full-body treatment with minimal effort. Here are a few examples of these larger panels:

  • MitoRed Light Mega XL: This panel is part of the Mega XL range and offers a much more extensive treatment area. It’s designed for users who want to treat their entire body in one session, providing both height and width coverage.
  • Block Blue Light XL Panel: Block Blue Light recently released its XL panel, which is even wider than its Mega 4.0, which came in second place. This panel offers a bigger footprint, allowing for more coverage during your treatment session.
  • Rojo Therapy Refine 3600: Rojo Therapy has also developed an XL version of the Refined series with larger dimensions to accommodate those who need full-body treatment.

These panels will provide extensive coverage if you want the absolute largest option. They are perfect for eliminating the need for multiple panels or frequent repositioning during sessions.

However, they do come with a higher price tag and require more space to set up. But if money and space aren’t an issue and you want the best size and coverage, these larger panels are worth considering.

Combining Panels for Maximum Coverage
Alternatively, if you want to increase your coverage without investing in one huge panel, you could take the route I’ve used for the last few years. Instead of relying on a single large panel, you can use multiple wall panels together.

For instance, I use four PlatinumLED BioMax 900s to achieve shoulder-to-shoulder coverage. This setup gives me the width I need, but there is a slight downside—there will be a blank spot in the middle due to the gap between the panels.

This multi-panel setup is worth considering if you already have several panels or plan to build your setup gradually over time.

Conclusion

While the LightPathLED Diesel XL Shortie, with its 12.72-inch LED width, is the widest panel in the 300-LED or less category, larger options are available if you want to invest more.

Whether it’s the MitoHacker 4.0 or a massive XL panel from MitoRed Light, Block Blue Light, or Rojo Therapy, you can find panels with even greater width and power. These larger devices will give you shoulder-to-shoulder coverage and head-to-toe treatment, allowing you to complete your sessions faster and more efficiently.
