The Top-5 Soundproof Red Light Therapy Panels: Must-Read!

Here are the top 5 panels that have a low noise or sound factor, measured in Decibel - so you don't have unnecessary stress!

The Top-5 Soundproof Red Light Therapy Panels: Must-Read!
On this page
Introduction

Over the years, I’ve tested countless red light therapy panels, and most deliver excellent light output and therapeutic benefits. However, one often-overlooked factor can significantly affect your experience: sound. A loud panel with irritating fans can completely disrupt the calm and relaxation that light therapy should bring.

So today, I'm considering the top 5 soundproof red light therapy panels!

I set out to test 17 popular red light therapy wall panels, explicitly focusing on sound levels. These panels have 300 LEDs or fewer, making them comparable in size and design.

With a decibel meter, I measured each panel's sound output at six inches, a standard distance used in light therapy tests to measure power. My goal was to identify the quietest options and help you find a panel that enhances your therapy sessions without adding unnecessary noise.

Why Sound Matters in Red Light Therapy

The sound might not seem like a big deal initially, but imagine using a panel that hums loudly or emits a high-pitched whirr during every session. Over time, this constant noise becomes more than just a mild annoyance—it can impact your relaxation, concentration, and overall therapy enjoyment.

Due to their design, some panels have unnecessarily loud fans or produce inconsistent sounds. These noises are incredibly irritating because they draw attention away from the session and even create stress. Sound management is critical, especially for users who prioritize peaceful environments or have sensitive hearing.

The Testing Process: Narrowing Down the Contenders

I tested the 17 panels, and the panels producing sound levels under 50 decibels advanced to the final list.

To give you some perspective, 50 decibels is about the volume of a quiet conversation or background noise in a library. Anything louder can quickly become disruptive during a therapy session.

Only eight panels from this initial pool cut produce sound levels low enough to qualify as "quiet." These are the best options for users looking for minimal noise during therapy sessions. However, before diving into the rankings, let’s address the two panels that performed the worst.

Panels to Avoid: High Noise Devices That Disrupt Relaxation

1. Joovv Solo 3.0

At 62 decibels, the Joovv Solo 3.0 is noticeably loud. But the issue isn’t just the volume—it’s the type of noise. This panel produces a whirring sound with a distracting ebb and flow, almost like an old fan struggling to keep up. For a panel designed for daily use, this level of noise is unacceptable, especially when quieter options are available.

2. Infraredi Pro Max

The Infraredi Pro Max is even louder, clocking in at 68.5 decibels. Its design features poor ventilation, causing the fans to work overtime to manage heat. The result? A constant, high-volume roar that’s impossible to ignore. While the panel might perform well in light output, the noise level makes it a poor choice for anyone seeking a relaxing therapy experience.

The Winner-The Quietest Panel

Claiming the top spot in my sound test is the LightpathLED Diesel XL Shortie, and it’s not hard to see why. This panel delivers an ultra-quiet performance that stands out from the competition. At just 41 decibels, it’s quieter than the average sound level in most homes. It’s the quietest red light therapy panel I’ve tested—and by a significant margin.

So What Makes the Diesel XL Shortie So Special?

  1. Unmatched Silence
The Diesel XL Shortie sound output of 41 decibels places it head and shoulders above the rest of the field. For context, second place came in at 43.5 decibels, while other top contenders hovered around the mid-40s to high-40s. Even panels in the mid-40s are remarkably quiet, but this one is exceptionally quiet.

The panel operates so quietly in real-world use that other ambient noises, like air conditioning, will easily drown it out. I even had to double-check that the fans were running during my tests—it’s that quiet.

  1. Quiet Doesn’t Mean Weak
What’s remarkable about the Diesel XL Shortie is that its ultra-quiet operation doesn’t compromise power or performance. Many panels struggle to balance powerful light output with sound control, but this one nails it. It produces a strong light output while maintaining a whisper-like sound level.

The Completely Silent Option: PlatinumLED SaunaMax Pro

The PlatinumLED SaunaMax Pro is a unique solution for users who want absolute silence. Designed for use in saunas and high-heat environments, this panel eliminates fans and relies instead on a massive heat sink.

While its power output is lower than fan-cooled models, its zero-noise design makes it ideal for sound-sensitive spaces like recording studios. If quiet is your top priority, this panel is worth considering.

Why This Testing Matters: Making the Right Choice for You

Sound may not seem like a big deal when shopping for a red light therapy panel, but it can make or break your experience. Whether you’re using the panel for relaxation, focus, or general wellness, noise should not detract from the therapy’s benefits.

The panels I’ve highlighted here offer excellent performance with minimal sound, ensuring your therapy sessions remain peaceful and effective. From the whisper-quiet Lightpath LED Diesel XL Shortie (code ALEX saves!) to the completely silent SaunaMax Pro, there’s an option for every user.
