The Bestqool Pro 100 is a red light therapy panel that’s been making waves in the market, primarily because of its attractive price point. But is it simply another basic entry-level device, or does it hold the potential to be a hidden gem for those new to red light therapy? 

In this review, I will thoroughly explore the features, performance, and value of the Bestqool Pro 100 so that you can make an informed choice.

About Bestqool

Bestqool has been in the red light therapy space for some time now. While this is only the second time I’ve reviewed one of their panels, the Pro 100 is their mid-range offering. The company has smaller options and larger wall panels, which I hope to review in the future.

One exciting aspect of Bestqool is its global presence (discount code ALEX saves!). Customers can choose their shipping location based on warehouse inventory levels in the USA, Canada, and China. This feature also determines the type of plug you’ll receive with your device, adding a layer of convenience for international buyers.

Features

At first glance, the Bestqool Pro 100 might appear basic, but it’s important not to confuse “basic” with “budget-friendly.” While it has an older-generation design aesthetic, the panel incorporates some modern features that elevate it above basic offerings:

  • Dual chip LEDs
  • Built-in control panel
  • Modular support (with some limitations)

The panel has standard accessories for hanging it from a door or wall hook and a comprehensive manual–a plus for newcomers to red light therapy.

The Pro 100 tabletop panel measures 20 inches high, 8 inches across, and weighs 9 pounds. Its relatively lightweight design makes it easy to move around as needed.

Wavelengths

According to the marketing, the Bestqool Pro 100 has 660nm and 850nm dual-chip LEDs. To verify these claims, I used my spectrometer to measure the actual output:

- Red light peak: 660nm (as advertised)

- Near-infrared peak: 854nm (close to the advertised 850nm)

Both wavelengths showed an excellent range of light output, typical of LED-based devices.

Power Testing Results

Bestqool claims the Pro 100 delivers 90 milliwatts of therapeutic red light at 6 inches. However, my real-world testing revealed significantly different results:

  • Peak irradiance: 65 mW/cm²
  • Average irradiance (over 9 points): 51.7 mW/cm²
  • Total wattage output: 32.5 watts

While these numbers are lower than advertised, they’re still competitive within the tabletop panel category.

Compared to other devices using the Light Therapy Insiders shopping tool, the Bestqool Pro 100 ranks 6th out of 14 for average irradiance and 3rd for total power output among tabletop panels.

EMF, Sound, and Flicker

Regarding electromagnetic fields (EMF), the Pro 100 showed a small amount of detectable non-native EMF at 6 inches. I measured the sound level at 43 decibels, which makes it the fifth quietest panel in the tabletop class I’ve tested.

Unfortunately, we detected some flicker in the LEDs, which was a minor drawback.

Price and Value

The Bestqool Pro 100 retails for USD 329, with a 7% discount available using the code “ALEX,” bringing the price down to $306. Shipping is free for US customers, while international buyers can expect to pay $60-$70.

When analyzing the value position using the Light Therapy Insiders shopping tool, the Pro 100 comes out on top:

  • Value rating: $5.90 per watt of therapeutic red light

  • Ranks 2nd overall when including wall panels

This exceptional value makes the Bestqool Pro 100 a strong contender in the budget-friendly category.

While the warranty is decent, the return restocking fee is steep compared to some competitors.

Pros:

  • The modular capability allows pairing with another unit but still requires individual control.
  • Refurbished option: This option offers additional savings with minor cosmetic imperfections.
  • Dual chip lenses: Provides even coverage of both red and near-infrared light.
  • Built-in control panel: Allows red or near-infrared light disabling.
  • Integrated timer: A must-have feature for convenient treatment sessions.
  • Quiet operation: One of the quieter panels in its class.

Cons:

  • Limited warranty and return policy: A two-year warranty and 20% restocking fee are less competitive.
  • No stand is available, which limits positioning options for treatment.
  • Minor EMF and flicker: This may concern some users, though levels are relatively low.
  • Awkward power cable placement: Hinders flush wall mounting.
  • Misleading power numbers: Actual output is significantly lower than advertised.
  • Basic modular capabilities: Lacks advanced features found in some high-end panels.

Should You Buy the Bestqool Pro 100?

If you’re on a tight budget and looking for a decent-sized LED panel that can treat various body areas, the Bestqool Pro 100 (again, discount code ALEX saves!) is worth considering. Its exceptional value position makes it an attractive option for those new to red light therapy or anyone looking to maximize their investment.

However, suppose you’re concerned about the minor EMF and flicker issues or require more advanced features like multi-wavelength technology or extensive modular capabilities. In that case, explore other options.

For those set on the $300 price point but looking for different features, consider the MitoRed MitoPro 300. It offers a nice control panel and multiple wavelengths, comes from a well-known company with a good warranty and support, and is slightly smaller than the Bestqool Pro 100.

If budget isn’t a concern and you’re after top-of-the-line performance, the PlatinumLED BioMax 300 is worth a look. It boasts higher power output and multiple wavelengths (including blue light for acne treatment) and earned the title of the best tabletop panel in my recent comparison. Remember that it’s about twice the price of the Bestqool Pro 100.

Conclusion

The Bestqool Pro 100 proves that a budget-friendly red light therapy device doesn’t have to be basic. While it has some limitations and minor issues, its exceptional value and decent performance make it a strong contender in the entry-level market. For those new to red light therapy or working with a tight budget, the Pro 100 offers an accessible entry point into the world of photobiomodulation.
